Whalebone and Windows

That’s the Whalebone building on Duane Street, just off of Hudson. According to this article, the building was built in 1843 as a residence. At some point it was converted into use as a whalebone cutting establishment, and when it closed in 1920 it housed the last working whalebone cutter in the country.  The sign had been covered with white paint and was restored as part of a private real estate conversion with the building to its left.   While that sign caught my attention and led to this image, at this point the reflections on the windows of the building to the right hold the most interest. Click on the image for a larger version to see them closer.  I have no idea what is going on there — I might have to go back to explore some morning just to find out.
