Night Bloom in Winter

Last December and January confronted New York with some of the most long-running bitter cold I can remember. So far, this year has been a most pleasant contrast. I saw this late bloomer in the park as I walked home about 10 days ago and stopped to grab a shot with the x100. Not bad for a slow shutter speed of 1/13 of  a second with no tripod, no support, and no vibration reduction technology.

Meanwhile, please head over to my buddy Jacques Gudé’s blog for the latest edition of our HDR Collaboration Group, and a sweet set of takes on a scene from Route 66.
