Hoboken Lackawanna Terminal and Clock Tower

I’m running behind today, so I cannot give this the historical background I would like, but I should have the chance with at least one more image later. For now let’s just say the building and clock tower are a little over 100 years old, that the clock tower was removed and restored at some point, and that this is I believe the last functioning  combined train and ferry terminal on the Hudson River, calling back to the days when trains from the mainland had to terminate in New Jersey, where journeys continued by ferry,  because there were no bridges or tunnels to carry people or goods across the river.

  1. Really cool shot Mark. I’ve stood in this exact same place and taken many a photo!

    1. Thanks, Dave. I’ve actually never been over to that part of Hoboken before and the station and tower were a nice surprise.
