This is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Syracuse, NY, sitting on Columbus Circle downtown. The statue of the explorer was sadly, defaced on all sides, but you can only barely tell in this image. There are two people in the shot, and oddly enough both of them did not move while I shot a 9 image bracketed sequence, not even the guy bending over in front of the Columbus pedestal. This was, as you can see, a beautiful morning – the day after Thanksgiving last year.
The cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse.

23 May 2012Beautiful warm tones Mark. Cool about the people staying still, not so cool about the defacing.

24 May 2012Very nice image, Mark. I like the warm tones of the buildings in the morning light complimented by the blue sky. The light reflecting off of the building behind the church offset from the dark shadowed side of the church adds drama and three dimensionality to the image.
