Last night Trey Ratcliff led a Google Plus photowalk in lower Manhattan, starting a few blocks north of Battery Park, and then heading down to that same park which is the lowest tip of Manhattan. He mingled, lectured and took photos. A few times, I broke away from the crowd to get ahead and find a position to take some shots before the crowd cluttered everything up.
This is one such shot, taken of New York Harbor, with the statue of liberty in the left quarter, and part of the Jersey City skyline to the right. It is a long exposure using a 10 stop neutral density filter to smooth the water, which I assisted in post using the blur tool in Aperture. I suppose if honor of Trey my first image from the event should have been an HDR, but this was the easiest to turn around and have ready overnight.
