Be My Guest You’ve Got Nothing To Lose

 

I’m not sure what it is, but something about this photo makes it look like a model set to me. I find it hard to get a sense of the scale of everything. The processing is simple and realistic enough, yet the result seems somewhat artificial. Maybe the lack of clouds is part of it.  I still like the result, but there you are. Taken from a recreational pier in Jersey City on a Sunday morning.

    Mark – I see what you mean! Do you think it is the size of the boat, which seems huge compared to the buildings?

    I can see what you mean Mark. It is actually a superb image – pin sharp with almost unbelievable precision in the buildings. I think too the size of the boat in relation to the buildings confuses us as to whether it can be real. But let’s not detract from the beauty of the image – because it is a stunning shot. And I like the sky as it is – too much interest in the sky would be a distraction.
