Thunder Hole Dawn, Acadia National Park

Available In My Galleries Here

Acadia National Park comprises most of Mount Desert Island in Maine. I just spent about 4 days there with 9 other great friends — photographers all — on our annual nXnw photo trip. This was taken during our last morning in the Park 2 days ago, at the Thunder Hole location on the coast. The area is so named because when the right sort of waves are coming in, a deep thunderous rolling sound emanates. The sea was not so rough during our visit, so there was only an occasional low rumble, but the beautiful sky more than made up for that. I’m still unpoacking and settling back into life and work, but I will remember this trip for a long time.
