When I read that the theme for October’s We35 Expedition challenge was “change,” my first thought was of something becoming something else. Given the season, (specifically that we learned of the October challenge in November), and where I work, I decided to feature an image of the creation of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree from a large, but otherwise ordinary, evergreen. You can see the rather elaborate scaffolding required to change this tree into the world famous symbol of Christmas in New York.  The official unveiling of the tree as Christmas tree took place the first week of December and the crowds have been coming to see it ever since.
