Found Money

Did you ever stick your hand into the pocket of a jacket you haven’t worn in a while and find a $20 bill you didn’t know you have?  It’s happened to me a few times, but the times I remember most were the times it happened while I was still in school, and the extra money made a huge difference.

That’s how I felt last night when I went looking for an image to post today.  I have plenty in the queue to be processed, but I had a busy weekend, I was tired, and I just wanted to get something ready without having to work on it.  So I started poking around the archives for something ready to go, and I found this baby.   It’s much better than I remembered it, and I don’t know what I was saving it for.

This is a corner of the Metropolitan Life North Building, which sits on an entire block bounded by Park Avenue, Madison Avenue, 24th Street and 25th Street.  That is Madison Square Park directly ahead.  The original Madison Square Garden, actually the first two versions of that venue, used to be 2 blocks north of this spot, where the New York Life Tower now sits.

  1. I know exactly what you are talking about!
Sometimes one has to give a picture some rest and return to it a few days later in order to see it with fresh eyes.

This one here is excellent – above all I really love the angle you have chosen for it.
