Bleecker – not Bleaker

Everything is pretty in golden hour. Even with a graffiti marred doorway, the scene just seems to defy the name of its street. The street at the far end of the block where the light is shining is the infamous Bowery.

The shot disappointed me a bit when I saw it on the computer, as it was not quite what I thought I saw on the camera. In particular, it ended up with more of the tilt=shift miniature effect than I planned.  I believe I alleviated some of that with the processing.  I’m leaving out the details because I think I want to produce a video tutorial using this image so you can see it then.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

UPDATE: I’ve added a video tutorial showing how I processed this image here.

  1. This is awesome, Mark. I like the use of the tilt, and the light is absolutely amazing!

  2. I really like this Mark. I know you didn’t want it to be so “miniature” but it works perfectly. Job well done.

  3. Great shot and processing. Love the golden hour colors
