This is the first bus stop; photo I took.  I realize it isn’t very interesting.  I was really just testing setting and results with the D700 and the 85mm prime lens.  I went out with a vague idea of taking candids, and had no plan to start a series or to focus on a particular location or context.  
Before beginning, I paused by this bus stop, standing out of the way of pedestrian traffic, and fiddled with my camera settings, to figure out the correct aperture, ISO, etc.  These people were standing a few feet away and became my test subjects.  I liked the results and moved on.  That night I found myself taking more and more shots of people standing at bus stops.  By the third or fourth location I moved in front of the people to get better shots, and the idea was born.
