This subway entrance on East 53rd Street is closed, but I’ve got to say that the hint of light coming out of the doorway just beyond, under the fancy awning, seems real enticing. By the way, with extremely rare exceptions, the subway and all of its individual stations never close, but certain entrances have limited hours.
