And so, after a hiatus, we resume our trip under the last leg of the elevated subway M train line in Ridgewood, Queens. This is underneath the Forest Avenue station. Because the line is coming out of an alleyway and is not running under a road, I’m able to set up centered under the tracks without blocking traffic or endangering myself. I took two shots from here. The first with a long lens, and second with a super wide angle. Unfortunately, I messed up the focus on the long lens, but decided to crop closely in on the wide angle which gets — at least partially — a similar effect. To keep from losing too much detail on the crop I used OnOne’s Perfect Resize to increase the image size before cropping down. Oddly enough, I also used Topaz’s Clean plugin, which took some detail out, because I liked the way it cleaned up some of the infinite receding pattern of lines.

23 May 2011Great POV here Mark, I like the depth to it and all the different lines and shapes, so much to look at. Great blue tones too.

23 May 2011Great PoV and lines. I like how the tracks just feel as if they go on and on without ever stopping.

23 May 2011I like how you can see it going straight down between the buildings, like it might never end!
