If you have been following my output this week from the World Wide Photo Walk I led last Saturday in Hunters Point/Long Island City Queens, you have probably noticed by now that there are no wide open vistas or broad expanses. I did that because I had already covered this ground multiple times and had a lot of those types of shots in the can. I’m not sure the end result has been as successful as I had hoped, but I’ll keep posting images through the weekend.
This is an old style street fire alarm. There are a bunch of these in the neighborhood, and this is not the only one that has shown up on the Flickr page for this photo walk. As far as I know they work just as well as the newer ones where you press a button and speak with a dispatcher.
