This is the souvenir stand next to the Cyclone roller coaster at Coney Island. As with all other images in the series, it was taken with real film, early on a Saturday morning in January. Having just been to Disney World last week, the parallels and contrast stands out for me here. Every Disney ride has an associated souvenir stand near its exit, but it also is much more elaborate than what we have here.

29 Feb 2012I like the less elaborate stands like this one – more nostalgic. I’m sure the kids prefer the others, which is more important!

1 Mar 2012Thanks for sharing your b&w shots, Mark. I really do miss the challenge of film. All of these shots are interesting to me. My local camera guy wants to sell one of his Contax G2 w/35mm Zeiss. Boy, am I tempted. 🙂

I’ve been very happy with my G2 so far. it’s a very snappy camera, and the Zeiss lenses that go with it really are superb. The only downside o them is that they have no utility apart from the Contax G Series, but that’s probably why they are so inexpensive when compared to lenses of similar quality.
