Stillwell Avenue, at the heart of Coney Island. That’s Nathan’s barely visible on the extreme right edge of the frame. Across the street is a row of new storefronts that lie empty. Whether they have tenants lined up for the start of the season I do not know. A few short years ago there was an entirely different row of stores on that block. They were torn down and rebuilt.

This is the last of my coney Island winter images in black and white. Next week, starting tomorrow, I will feature another set of color images and that will conclude the run altogether.
