Hoboken Cigars

Walking along River Street in Hoboken, I came across this subtle bit of neon advertising for Hoboken Cigars, and was immediately drawn to its studied, understated cool. You can see me and my tripod reflected in the bottom center window. While I do not mind it here, I wish there were a magic tool that would allow me to shoot into storefronts and other street level windows from straight ahead and not have to worry about getting myself in the shot.

I hope everybody had a great weekend, and faces a great week ahead.

  1. Beautiful arrangement of colours in this shot – I particularly like the balance between the Neon sign and the patch of light on the read wall diagonally opposite. Well seen, Mark

  3. I personally think this is another one of your best, Mark. Color, composition and tone are great! This is “rule of thirds” perfect. . . and a good self portrait. 🙂 Nice job.
