Erie Lackawanna Ferry Slip, Hoboken, NJ

This is another look at the train and ferry terminal that was featured here. This is is the ferry slip for the Hoboken, NJ Erie Lackawanna train terminal and ferry landing. The skyline in the back is Jersey City, which sits directly across from downtown Manhattan.  I had to clean up a lot of dust spots. In all seriousness, please let me know if you found any I missed.

UPDATE:  A couple of people have done me the favor of looking and found no spots (one here in the comments and one on Facebook), so feel free to try yourself but I think it is covered.

In addition, a note on the strong blue tones. The sky really was like that, but the Hudson River water, not quite so much, although this is not completely unrealistic. I did not set out to render it this blue. I hit the “Auto” button on the Levels brick in Aperture, which is usually a good starting place, and this time it really popped the blues. It is unusual for it to go so strongly in a particular direction, and usually it helps to corect any oddities in the color cast. In any event, I liked the results and took the somewhat unusual result as a sign to go with it.

  1. Did a 3Xlarge in Smugmug. Thought I found a dust spot but it was just dirt on my monitor. 🙂 Nice “clean” shot, Mark.
