Immaculate Conception a/k/a/ St. Mary’s Church, Yonkers – Traditional View

As I’ve previously discussed, my first shot of this Church was discovered on the internet by its pastor, Msgr. High Corrigan, which led to me getting the access I used for this and other shots shown over the past month or so. Msgr Corrigan and a few other people have told me that they liked that first shot because it departed from the usual shot of the interior of a church. But of course, when I returned and had all that access, I had to add the standard shot to my shot list. I present it here in two versions: color and black and white. It’s not something I normally do. Usually when I get the idea to process an image in black and white, or some variation of monochrome, I either prefer the result enough to commit, or I dislike it and return to a full-color look. But this time  liked both in roughly equal measure, so here they are.

  1. Both are nice Mark, but the tones in the color version are absolutely beautiful. I especially like the blues on the ceilings by the window! Stunning man! Good stuff!

  2. Nothing wrong with tradition when the results come out like these mark. Terrific capture and processing. I can’t decide which one is better as they both are killer.

  3. The B&W gets my vote, Mark. The elegant lines and curves are enhanced by the monochrome treatment without the color distraction. Very nice job!

  4. Nice work Mark, looks like a great place

  5. I am a devotee of Immaculate Concepcion.. this church is almost look exactly with our church in our place. So beautiful!
