This is the 79th Street Boat Basin on the Hudson River, looking south from Riverside Park on an unusually warm January evening. two-and-a-half years ago. This was taken just after golden hour in blue hour, and the images came out of the camera with a heavy blue color cast. When I I first published an image from that scene, I kept the color cast uncorrected and called it “All Most Blue.”
In this image I corrected the white balance and color cast, to better capture the true balance between the overall blue tones, and the yellow/orange highlights from the remnants of the sunset.
I think the Hudson will always be my favorite of NYC’s waterways/

3 Oct 2012I really like this one, Mark. Wonder how that bike on the lower right boat is used on the Hudson. 🙂 The strong leading line from the right corner and dark mass at lower left are powerful anchors for the shot.
