Bethesda Mall, Steps and Fountain

The weather report promised flurries for New Year’s morning. I had hoped to get some basic Central Park in snow shots, of which I currently have none. They never arrived, so I worked with what was available.  The Bethesda Fountain is very heavily photographed — a search for “bethesda fountain” in Flickr yields almost 12,000 results, but I’ve never seen it from this point of view. I’m sure it’s been done somewhere, but not that I’ve seen, and it’s certainly less common that several other angles, so I’ve got that going for me at least.

  1. I like the symmetry in this, Mark. And the pool of light through the central arch just makes one want to walk through and see what’s on the other side.
