SingleCut Beersmiths

Single Cut Brewery

Following upon my earlier visit to the Rockaway Brewing Company, the next stop on my tour of Queens breweries was to SingleCut Beersmiths in Astoria. By appearances at leadst, they would seem to have the largest operation of any of the breweries currently operating in Queens.

They serve not only their brews but also have a bar menu. You can order a flight to sample 5 varieties of their beer for $10, and they play old school vinyl on the sound system.

Single Cut Brewery Neil Ol' Blackie IPA

This is the Neil Ol’ Blackie IPA, described as a combination of the “super-charged bitterness of an IPA with the darkness of a Stout.” I found it a bit more stout-like than IPA, but there was a touch of sharpness that you don’t usually find in a pure stout.

Check out SingleCut’s website, and consider a visit if you’re in the area.
