Lime Rock Park – ALMS Race – Velvia

Ahhh, Velvia. When you work, you are gorgeous. This was taken on medium format film with an 80mm lens (roughly equivalent to 50mm on full frame digital or 35mm film). The Velvia just kicks every other medium — both other films and digital — from here to next Tuesday on landscape greenery.

But I’m having trouble scanning some of my Velvia slides that look pretty good when viewed directly against a light source.  Some scan dark although they look well exposed, and others yield a weird color cast that doesn’t lend itself to processing fixes.  Negative color film, with its weird orange color fix,  is actually easier to work with, which I guess is why they invented negative film in the first place. I might try having the lab that process my net roll of Velvia also scan it.
