Eastern State Penitentiary

I spent the weekend in Philadelphia with my family, mostly to visit the Revolutionary Era historical sites. But we also took in a couple of other attractions. When we were planning the trip, I told my daughters that they should feel free to research the city and suggest any places they wanted to visit, and to my surprise my older girl asked to go see Eastern State Penitentiary.

It’s a fun place to shoot, for certain, although it is also one of those places where there is a handful of key spots  that causes everyone to keep getting variations on the same images. I got those shot, and will share them, but I also tried to grab a couple of images that — well, at least I hadn’t seen them previously.

Here are some of the few fixtures left on the penitentiary hallways, neatly arranged and only partial disrepair.
