Calvary Cemetery Chapel

Over time, I find it tougher and tougher to find images that I consider worthy of posting. I’ve always been willing, and still am, to show lss than stellar work. Even when you skip weekends, you cannot post every day and only show truly excellent work. But I think as I have grown as a photographer my line for what is minimally acceptable has gone up. In truth, I have probably crossed that line a few times this year just to put something up.

I think that going forward I’m going to either have to

1. spend more time shooting and looking for good photo opportunities

2. reduce my posting level, or

3. accept a lower quality output than I would like.

Obviously the first option is the best, but I’m not sure I have time.

With that less than auspicious background, this image is one that I have no hesitation posting.  This is the chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, taken straight from the camera using the black and white film simulation in the Fujifilm x100s.

Fujifilm X-E1 Price Drop

Finally, I want to share some camera discount news. My favorite all-around camera, the Fujifilm X-E1 is significantly less expensive than when I bought it, because everyone expects Fuji to announce its replacement in 2-3 weeks. You can get an X-E1 body with the amazing 18-55 kit lens for $999, which is almost 30% less than what I paid less than a year ago. The following links are affiliate based.

If you don’t need the kit lens the body is now only $799. If you don’t yet have the kit lens I highly recommend it, bit a second backup body without the 18-55 lens is a good deal.
