Green-Wood Cemetery – Claire’s Second Gallery

Claire’s first gallery is here. Go ahead and take a look and for more background. The short version is that my 9-year old daughter Claire is coming on more and more photo walks with me, and taking pictures with her Kodak point and shoot. Despite its technical limitations, she manages to capture some nice shots, and I wanted to highlight some of them.  As I mentioned two days ago with the first gallery. Claire does not know I’m doing this yet. If you’re so inclined, please leave a comment either here or on the first gallery (or both!) so I can show her in a few days.

The first image is a side profile of a statue of DeWitt Clinton.

Next is a detail of a tree.

Next is a detail of pavement.  Claire likes taking shots up close and is often undermined by the limits of her gear.

The fourth image is of a pair of toppled, worn headstones.

Next is just a pretty plot of graveyard with some nice fall color.

Finally a detail of leaves floating in a pond.

  1. The detail shot of the pavement and the leaves on the pond are really nice! I like the colors in the cemetery pic too! Good start!

  2. LOVE the cemetary shot with the trees!

  3. I’m liking the pavement and the headstones shot. I think the headstones would make a good b/w conversion with a lot of contrast. You better watch out dude, by the time she can steal your car, she just might be putting you to shame 😉
