Driving down Warburton Avenue in Yonkers I noticed this gate that seemingly led to nothing. It was especially odd to think of it as a barrier since the stone side supports have nothing on either side to prevent you from just sidestepping the gate altogether. You could just walk around. When I got out of the car and inspected more closely I could see that there is an apparently abandoned small road leading up and to the left into what I believe is Untermyer Park. You can’t see that through the photo, so this image works as I first saw the gate: a passageway to nothing in particular.
