This is the first picture I’ve ever posted of the Mississippi River. I considered for a moment whether this was the first time I have seen the Mississippi (even though I have briefly visited Minneapolis before) but then realized I surely saw it when I visited St. Louis and went to the Gateway Arch park.

I was in Minneapolis this weekend to fulfill a longtime dream and attend a Vikings game. Despite growing up in New York, I have been a Vikings fan since 1970 and finally made the trip this year as a variety of factors came together to make it feasible. While there I also visited with a high school classmate, and of course, took my camera along and grabbed some shots.  This is from Nicollet Island, looking roughly southeast towards downtown Minneapolis. It was a quick trip, a fun weekend, and the Vikings won, so the photos I got are a bonus.
