Late for the Party – Times Square, New Year’s Day Morning

Times Square, New Year’s Day Morning, about 20 minutes before Civil Dawn. As you can see, much of the clean up is already done, and the area is largely deserted. Most of the people there were working on crews busy removing temporary light structures and crowd control barriers. You can still see the 2013 sign at the top of One Times Square.

This is a manual blend of three exposures. I used a slight over-exposure for everything except the lights and the sky, a slight under-exposure for the sky and all of the lights except for the aeropostale light ribbon on the right, and a deeper underexposure for that ribbon.  After tat, I added some color correction, contrast, and a medium to high saturation boost for the final result.

  1. Well, there it is. Often wondered what the place looked like after the New Year’s Eve bash – now I know! Very cool! Good job on the blending!

  2. Actually looks pretty peaceful for a change, Mark. Nice processing.
