You do not often see a completely empty parking lot in Manhattan.  Even when a lot is closed, as this one apparently was, people will take advantage of the opportunity and park for free.  It rained a bit that night – very light, but enough to put some drops on the giant front element of the 14-24 super wide zoom lens.
