I wish I had captured both of these women in equally sharp focus, but you don’t usually get second chances on the street, and shallow depth-of-field is the price you pay for creamy, dreamy bokeh.

15 Jun 2010IMHO photos don’t have to be pinpoint sharp at all costs.
I prefer such an atmospheric picture as the one here.
With a greater depth of field the photo might be less interesting.

Thanks so much. I agree the trade-off is worth it. I’ll gladly accept some out of focus subjects for the overall effect, but sometimes I wish I could have everything too, you know?
