This stairwell is from the Stone Mill in Lawrence, Massachusetts, a location that has been featured on this site previously. My occasional access to the site has always been through my friend Robert Lussier.  He recently redesigned his website and you should definitely give it a visit. It’s because of him I have a tag for “Lawrence” here on the blog.  He also had a birthday this week.  And he is particularly fond of shooting photos of stairwells himself.

Finally, this is probably annoying of me, but I’m going to do it anyway.  I like this image, but something about the composition bothers me. I could fix it, but that would create other issues, so here it is. And I’m not going to say what it is. Sorry.
